Team Members


 Omer Abdelati Omer

Managing Director - former Judge and Justice Minister



Mr. Abdelati obtained his L.L.B at Khartoum University 1963 and the same year appointed Magistrate of the Criminal Court Khartoum North. In 1964 was appointed District Judge of Khartoum. In 1965 he joined the nation’s leading chambers of former Prime Minister Mohamed Ahmed Mahjoub and a year later established the Omer Abdelati Law firm. He was honored by the U.S. State of Louisiana for delivering U.S. crops to alleviate the devastating famine in Darfur and later elected Vice President of the Bar Association. In 1985 he was appointed Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Sudan before standing down to return to his private practice in 1986.


Adil Atiyah




A lecturer of Law at the University of Khartoum, he taught courses in contracts, insurance and sale of goods. Prior to joining the firm he was the Legal Consultant of Al Baraka Bank.

Arif Abdelsalam




With 20 years of experience on advising clients in banking, finance (Islamic), corporate, construction, litigation and commercial law, Mr. Abdelsalam has an unrivaled depth and breadth of legal knowledge.


Nafisa Omer

Senior Associate



With an LLB from the University of Khartoum and a High Diploma in Human Rights and Part I Masters, Mrs. Omer was selected as Sudan’s 2010 Candidate for the International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) programme. She spent three months training with the Clifford Chance LLP London Office. She has attended several courses at Cambridge and Oxford Universitiesas well as attending courses at the Combar in London and shadowing a barrister at the Temple Chambers in London. Her practice focuses on banking, commercial law, litigation and dispute resolution.



Yahia Bakry

Senior Associate





Holding an LLB degree from the University of Khartoum, Mr. Bakry has some 14 years of experience in the areas of employment, litigation and corporate, industrial and construction law.



Rayan Omer

Senior Associate



Ms. Omer graduated with an LLB degree from the University of Khartoum with Honors and obtained an LLM from the same university. Her practice focuses on employment, corporate, commercial laws and litigation.

The World Bank has acknowledged Ms. Omer’s contribution in the Women, Business and Law annual reports and the Doing Business 2013:, visit, and other reports.



 Mahmoud Omer

Senior Associate




With an LLB degree from the University of Khartoum, his main practice focuses on litigation, employment and commercial law.



Abdelkhalig Shaib


With an LLB from the University of Khartoum-Honors Division II and Masters degree from the University of Khartoum, Mr. Shaib completed his studies with a Masters from Harvard Law School. He was awarded a certificate by UNDP. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Abdelkhalig worked as a legal officer at the Cabinetand worked as an intern at Afridi & Angell Legal Consultants, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. His practice focuses on corporate, commercial laws and litigation.
